Choral Pieces and Arrangements

These pieces are made available for school, church and community choirs. While these scores are free to download, I do ask that you send me what you or your ensemble can afford and think is appropriate (average payment $25-$75). Payments can be made using Paypal (chris.rust@comcast.net) or Venmo (@Christopher-Rust-2) or email me for an address of where you can send a check. These payments, however small, allow and encourage me to continue composing and arranging! In addition, where possible, I would love for you to send me a quick email letting me know the date and location of the performance. A recording of the performance is always appreciated as well! Enjoy!

Secular Pieces

I Sing Because- Written for the 2020 Beaverton School District Virtual Choir. I’m hoping this piece gets performed a lot as I believe it captures why we sing and how much we have all missed choirs during quarantine! Check out the virtual choir here. I’m excited to announce that this piece is currently under contract with Hal Leonard/Pavane Publishing. Click here to purchase!

Venite Carpe Noctem- For SSAATTBB and Sop soloist, this acappella beauty was recently featured as a PROJECT ENCORE composition and is now published by Personage Press. This piece has been performed in NYC, San Francisco, Portland and Hillsboro and will soon be performed by the group KC Vitas in Kansas City (once we get out of this COVID mess!) Take a listen to a performance by Pacific Youth Choir, directed by Brandon Brack.

Lux Aeterna- SATB with Piano. Very easy; appropriate for middle school, high school and college choirs. A great piece to work on musicality, balance and blend. This piece was written for the Sunset Chamber Choir for their final project, winter 2020. Listen to/watch the virtual choir premiere here.

Wayfaring Stranger- Arranged for Soloist(s) and SAATB. Easy to moderate level and very doable for high school or community/church choirs. Listen to a recording here. (Please note: the recording was made while practicing social distancing in April 2020—timing isn’t perfect, but these high school students still rocked it!)

You’ll Never Walk Alone- A fairly difficult but still doable arrangement written at the beginning of quarantine 2020. Performing this arrangement are members of my acappella group and various alumni from the past three years. These singers had never sung together as a complete group and we never rehearsed as an ensemble. I’m very pleased with the arrangement and hope that it finds a life beyond YouTube once choirs are able to resume rehearsing and performing again! Check out their recording here. Purchase sheet music here.
